For the past 2 weeks or so, Richard Sherman has been all over the place. News, magazines, blogs, and it’s only going to continue the closer we get to the SuperBowl. While some have a less than stellar opinion of the Seattle Seahawks cornerback, we can all take a page or two out of the book of who Sherman is, on and off the field. Some of this man’s traits are things we may be looking for in an ideal mate.
Hear us out…
Sherman was a scholar-athlete and Salutatorian at Dominguez High School in Compton, California. He went on to Stanford University, where he received a degree in communications. It’s very clear from many of his media appearances that he is a well spoken, and articulate man. While your mate doesn’t have to receive an Ivy League education, isn’t it nice to be with an intellectual? A lot of people say it’s brains, not beauty, that turns them on.
In June 2013, Sherman started a charity called “Blanket Coverage – The Richard Sherman Family Foundation”, which assists children with resources like school supplies and clothing. A person who gives back to the community is a keeper. Maybe you can’t start a whole foundation, but you can certainly volunteer your time in the community and lend a helping hand.
One thing the public and the media can agree on, especially in light of the post-game interview that catapulted him into this most recent frenzy, Richard Sherman sure is spontaneous! No one could have ever guessed what he was going to say to the reporter in the heat of the moment. But spontaneity is a good trait to have in relationships. Routine gets boring. Sometimes you want to spice things up and keep your mate guessing.
“Don’t you ever talk about the best!” Sherman is passionate about his career. He plays with the fire that shows how much he loves football. Wouldn’t that be a great thing to feel from your significant other? Wouldn’t you want someone to be that passionate about you, making sure that they are doing their best every day to make the relationship work? Be passionate about your mate, and show the same fiery desire for them.
